Wednesday's snow

In this photo, I was trying to capture the rising sun as it hit the trees covered with snow.  Any suggestions to improve this photo. ISO 1600, F 11, 1/1000sec.

It is rare that there is no wind.  It was fun to see the snow setting on each of the blades.

An Adoption Story

Fake Mintature

A church on the Auraria campus in Denver using a tilt-shift lens. Coors field and Lookout Mtn are in the background. The tilt and thin depth of field was chosen to maximize the miniature effect.

Just messin' around with the camera this evening.  I took photos of the three guitars separately, then stitched them together.  Each guitar was lit differently, so different camera settings on each shot.  Aria electric - 0.5sec, f4.0, iso400.  White Fender - 1.3sec, f4.0, iso400.  Acoustic - 30 seconds, f5.6, iso1600.

I got out for a walk over my lunch hour with my camera.  I looked hard for things to photograph, and took a few photos, one or two are moderately interesting, but the light was flat (over noon, go figure!).  At the end of the afternoon, I stepped out of the office to get something from my truck, and saw how the setting sun was breaking through the clouds over Boulder.  I grabbed my camera again and spent the next 20 minutes or so shooting photos with a couple different lenses.  This is the last shot that I took, and the one that I felt turned out best.  f8 1/400 iso200 with my Canon 24-105 lens.
