Black and White Flowers

Brian, thanks for the idea of black and white photos of flowers. It really inspired me. Plus my new camera takes awesome black and white photos.

This is Titus - he is a Great Dane who is the companion of a friend of mine.  

I have Great Danes as well and I just love how expressive their faces are.  This is a great example of that, I think.

Mother's Day Flowers

I got out this morning, after a lovely breakfast prepared by my husband and daughter, and took these shots in my garden.  It had rained the night before, so the flowers had droplets of water on them, still.  I mostly enjoyed shooting in Aperture Priority, with shallow depth of field.

Right before leaving for work the sun began to hit the flower pots on our patio - this is one of the shots I caught.  Would have been nice had it been a more full flower but they haven't reached their full glory yet.
